You may not end up where you thought you were going, but you will always end up where you were meant to be.
Jessica Taylor
Some years ago, when we purchased this domain name with the intention of creating a blog, it had nothing to do with what it has become. We had intended to move closer to family, get an RV and travel the country.
We started to plan our trips, even bought a truck to pull our rather large RV. But it never worked out. The draw to be close to family and help with GGma (Ashley’s Grandma) never went away. We ended up selling our big truck and resuming life as normal.
One thing led to another, and we started to see that when we stepped back and listened to God’s plan instead of our own, it all worked out for the best. Despite being ‘stuck’ as I like to say it, we have been protected from harm and gained a closer connection as a family.
I look back a think, ‘where would we have been stuck?’ if we had been traveling during the beginning months of the pandemic. Instead, we have taken the gift of living with family and used this time to grow and learn.
We have started a family garden, gathered food storage, and learned many valuable skills that we would not have gained any other way. As a family, we have been able to focus on what is most important to us.
As our time here prepares to close and we prepare to move onto our own homestead, our journey will just continue to wind along. And the experiences and knowledge we can share will continue to grow.
As the world continues to spiral out of control, more and more people are looking around and wondering how to protect themselves in the coming days. The fear of societal collapse is very real for many.
Each of us has a great amount of knowledge. We each have something to share. To teach you only need to be one step in front of someone else. That one step lets you share what you learned while taking it to the people who follow behind you.
So, we invite you to follow our journey and learn how to become more self-sufficient, cook healthier, live more naturally, and teach your children the things you want them to be taught.
Our blog is for those who dream every day of growing a homestead but have no idea where to start. Those who want to preserve their own food or are afraid of taking the leap to homeschool their children.
No matter where you are in your life, we hope to inspire you or entertain you with our adventures.
We are a family of five plus one on the way. We enjoy taking walks & drives in natural. The kids love hanging out with their grandparents, playing with Legos, and making all kinds of things. Both Ashley & I take turns writing articles in the blog and running the social media spaces.
Uses his inventive mind to build websites and random projects around the house using wood and his 3D printer.

Enjoys spending the day learning how things work.
Loves making craft projects and reading.
Always trying to keep up with his brother & sister in everything.
Our newest little one. He enjoys being held by anyone in the family.

No one can ever predict where their life will end up. When we got married, life was pretty normal with the standard suburban home and full time jobs. But being laid off a month into our marriage opened our eyes to new possibilities. From owning our own business, to living in a RV full time with 3 kids. We would have never guessed the turns our lives would take. And despite traveling along the hardest course and high stresses that get thrown at us, it has been enjoyable. Now you can follow our journey and get inspired to take one of your own…
